In Nepal, only licensed trekking guides and porters registered with the national authorities are permitted to lead trekking tours. In most areas, trekkers must be accompanied by a licensed guide.

Following the Annapurna tragedy in 2014, the Nepali administration implemented various measures to ensure the safety of trekking tourists. Among these, individual companies were temporarily suspended from operating trekking businesses. Only providers with solid organisational structures remained authorised.

To help Gobinda Travel Advisor transform from a sole proprietorship into an officially recognised agency, we provided Gobinda with a loan to support him and his team in maintaining their income as guides and porters.

At the same time, MAGMA Branding designed and relaunched the website gobindatravelnepal.com free of charge, ensuring a solid online platform for effective communication.


Annapurna tragedy

On October 14, 2014, a devastating snowstorm occurred on the Annapurna Circuit, triggered by the remnants of tropical cyclone Hudhud. The storm caught many hikers on one of Nepal’s most popular trekking routes, resulting in at least 43 fatalities.
